Galerie Steph and Nature Morte, Singapore
In an attempt to resist contemporary market demand, I created one piece of art out of thirty five individual pieces. The exhibition invited movement between the materiality of my world and my directed gaze into the erotic male body. Different ironic and erotic imagery teased the viewer’s gaze.
The male phallic form – reduced, mocked, displaced, projected as local domestic symbol or sculptural object ascended from three different ethnic community markets in Singapore.
