Drawing room 2006

Drawing Room –I
Nature Morte and British Council, New Delhi

Drawing Room – II
Chemould Prescott Road, Mumbai

The drawing grows beyond the frames of a conventional drawing. The drawings were never displayed individually; they are not complete without a background, without an atmosphere…a recreated space or a situation.

The room was decorated with erotic images of teeth and bananas, pretty ladies and roses, tongues and phallus, tiger skin and backbones. The sexual innuendoes of the unsaid intercourse were kept in sharp contrast to the conventional discourse of a drawing room space. The inanimate objects were given a life of their own, and the human body was disintegrated in to the primordial basics.
