Kamdhenu is considered as the god of desire. In my work, the figure has six legs with the composition divided into four parts. Kamdhenu’s identity is broken and restructured to present an alarming reality marked by hypocrisy and urgent need for the creation of a popular identity in order to feel a sense of belonging.
Kamdhenu criticized the demand of “Indianness” from the artworks of Indian artists by the Contemporary Art world. The vulnerability of certain artists that succumb to the pressure of these demands which then come to control their identity is also a disturbing factor.
