Peabody Essex Museum (PEM)

(un)picking the established museum etiquettes, this project culminated in tracing an alternative and participatory tour of the museum where art objects from artist’s studio were placed alongside PEM’s original museum objects with imitated labels, presenting surreal stories and information of the objects.
The audiences were engaged with a new narrative of meaning making and discourses by spouting non-language speak. It compelled visitors to question the given conduct of an institutional space, providing them with a different perspective to view artworks.
Challenged by my intervention and involvement of the visitors, the museum space-a metaphor revealing the defined structure of the societal institutions transformed into an open platform to resist the strict norms of a codified system.
