A linguistic reimagination of an ‘unknown’ culture and language, to create a new story analogous to the popular Polish daily soap, M jak milosc.
This project offers a linguistic reimagination of an ‘unknown’ culture and language, creating an entirely new narrative using visuals from the popular Polish soap opera M jak miłość. By observing body language, gestures, and extra-diegetic sounds—and layering them with auto-generated subtitles via Google Translate—it fabricates a fictional story that straddles the line between reality and illusion.
Blending cross-cultural interpretation, sensory observation, and technological mediation, the work challenges assumptions, translating the familiar into the foreign, and vice versa.
