Unlockdown 2020
Video performance as a responder, video-montage as artist’s response for an online platform at the beginning of the lockdown period.
In my response to the demand (attack?) by the art world ...., I attempted to “respond” by creating a video montage that brings together my un–poems, social media posts, and un-poetic comments on everyday issues with gestures of performances and parodic humor. The video ‘Unlockdown’ visualizes the entire process (amateurish and struggling) with the sound of the interviewer’s instructive voice note; all of which create an affective overlay of different methods, mediums, and meanings––and helped me formulate a new aesthetic of digital and process-based language as a comment during the lockdown.
