Sonargaon Town, Bangladesh
The torn posters of Bangladeshi Political leaders that had been disfigured by the angered voters became this site-specific installation’s central point. Re-touched and re-created, the posters were further pasted back onto the walls of the same village in Bangladesh.
Most of the original identity got lost in this process. Severely distorted, abused and destroyed by the frustration and dying expectations of the citizens, what was then left of them was just an abstract grotesque pattern of an un-wanted identity!
